Photo Requirements
- File size: Maximum 10MB per image
- Formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
- Recommended: JPG for best compatibility and smaller file sizes
Why Upload Photos?
Regular photo documentation helps you:
- Track growth - Compare size over time
- Monitor patterns - Document color and pattern changes
- Record sheds - Before and after shed comparisons
- Health documentation - Visual evidence of issues for vet visits
- Collection showcase - Build a visual portfolio
📸 Photography Tips
- • Use natural lighting for accurate colors
- • Take consistent angles (top-down, side profile) for comparisons
- • Include a size reference (ruler, hand) when documenting growth
- • Photograph after sheds when colors are brightest
- • Take multiple angles to capture full detail
Organizing Your Gallery
Photos are displayed in reverse chronological order (newest first). Use captions to organize and categorize:
- "Post-shed, March 2024"
- "Growth comparison - 6 months"
- "Health issue - left foot"
- "Before breeding"
Managing Photos
Each photo card has options to:
- View full size - Click the photo to see it larger
- Edit caption - Update the description
- Delete - Permanently remove the photo
💡 Pro Tip: Consistent Documentation
Take photos at regular intervals (monthly, after each shed, etc.) from the same angles. This creates a visual timeline that makes growth and changes much easier to see.
Storage Limits
Photo storage limits depend on your subscription tier:
- Free: Up to 3 photos per animal
- Pro: Up to 25 photos per animal
Photos are stored securely on AWS S3 and linked to your account. If you delete a reptile, all associated photos are also deleted.
