Organizing Large Collections
If you have many reptiles, use these strategies to stay organized:
1. Descriptive Names
Use consistent naming conventions. Examples:
- By Species & ID: "BP-001", "BP-002" (Ball Python 1, 2)
- By Morph & Number: "Albino 1", "Albino 2"
- By Name & Species: "Smaug (Bearded Dragon)"
2. Use Photos
Add profile photos to make visual identification easier at a glance.
3. Notes Field
Store important details in the notes field:
- Breeder/source information
- Genetics (for breeding projects)
- Temperament notes
- Special care requirements
4. Enclosures
Track which reptiles are in which enclosures using the Enclosures feature. This helps you manage housing and environmental parameters.
Deleting Reptiles
If you need to remove a reptile from your collection:
- Go to the reptile's detail page
- Click Edit
- Scroll to the bottom and click Delete
- Confirm the deletion
⚠️ Warning
Deleting a reptile permanently removes ALL associated data including:
- • Feeding schedules and feeding logs
- • Health records
- • Weight entries and charts
- • Photos
- • Care reminders
This action cannot be undone. Consider exporting your data first if you want to keep records.
